My exploration (poddle) and research led me back to my Mayfly.

I had chosen her to be my piece for the ‘regroupadvance’ collective show during reading week. (Nov 2021).

She is an assemblage, I would like to run a workshop or make a film to accompany her.

I chose Items  that were in my reach  within about a 90 minute moment and combined them to talk about desires, drives, and life, our exceptions. In the exhibition I hung this tablet of meaning  The Mayfly on a layer of hand startched white muslin, a reference to the domestic and virtue.  The co curator, Jeremy asked me to hang a second piece to respond to the first.

I chose to hang the Magic tree,  not yet a tablet, still a collage on canvas.

This I placed on a layer of black hand dyed muslin, to signify the darker thought of domestic  freedom and virtue.

Sadly a talk or workshop  this was not possible this time. So the  films would have to do. Some slightly off beat and others taking a more serious tone. I think the purpose of the piece is to attract and the written or filmed piece may set the tone and, for those who need or like instruction, give direction to find a purpose for it, or my thoughts on a subject.

I would like to think they might inspire, uplift or maybe just amuse.
