‘Memento Vivere’
‘Tapestries of thought or collages of experience, memories, or assemblages, objects of information’
They prove Im here, what form they take is an adventure – I never know what the residue will be.
They are my response to living. They remain as reminders me to live.
‘Memento Vivere’.
I am exploring non prosaic, the phenomenal.
My objects are vehicles these objects are:
Storage jars, vessels, books, paintings, bodies, food, cups, textiles, lemons, chairs.
They are domestic data…
They tell stories of birth, death and everything in between.
The processes I am researching evidence:
Domestic rituals of wrapping – up – enveloping – peeling revealing. Changing though mending, repairing. Recycling, fermenting, cooking.
Love and care, building forming, creating.
My research creates products, artefacts evidencing my exploration elevating the every .
To encourage exploration, enjoyment and appreciation of the everyday.
Elevating the seemingly ordinary.

My research 2021/22
I have found unanswered questions from last year which I believe are driving my research this year. last year I wrote:
Picture making or observing, sometimes deliverers something unexpected, something I hadn’t realised I felt or thought. I wonder if this Is my subconscious surfacing or something else?
Is this a magic moment, my thoughts and feelings in tune with the natural fluxes and flows that encompass our world like an invisible web connecting everything and everyone?
I would like to explore the history of this within art, and find the magic moments in my everyday, while connecting the narratives. I am curious to see if this may be a way to speak about the ordinary, the domestic, possibly promoting and reminding my audience of its forgotten value in finding balance and synergistic harmony.
My aims are:
-To confirm the importance- while making central inspiration from the domestic and the everyday -of the imagined and the magic. To explore my own feelings and beliefs about the real, imagined, domestic and the everyday.
-To examine the use of escapism to reach credible or beneficial goals or beliefs.
–To expand my knowledge of other cultures to allow me to reach a broader audience, using the domestic realm as a vehicle.
–To discover a way to use my work to raise spirits and encourage the imagination.
-To developed a language with imagery that would appeal without imposing or offend to encourage the search for the magic and inspiration in the everyday.
-To research and find materials that might be more appropriate than the traditional ones.
-To learn how to use these new Materials effectively.-To pin point where the resulting work or ideas would be most effectively displayed or incorporated.

After a year I have reflected on Saul Bellows assertion that :
“The novel can’t be compared to the epic, or to the monuments of poetic drama. But it is the best we can do just now. It is a sort of latter-day lean-to, a hovel in which the spirit takes shelter. A novel is balanced between a few true impressions and the multitude of false ones that make up most of what we call life. It tells us that for every human being there is a diversity of existences, that the single existence is itself an illusion in part, that these many existences signify something, tend to something, fulfill something; it promises us meaning, harmony and even justice. What Conrad said was true, art attempts to find in the universe, in matter as well as in the facts of life, what is fundamental, enduring, essential.”—Saul Bellow, Nobel Prize Lecture, delivered on December 12, 1976
I have ping ponged back wards and forwards trying to ascertain whether art might be a way of finding truth. Truth that leads to useful knowledge and in turn learning. After a year, I have discovered we all look at everything differently. Therefore truth to one person is a falsification to another.
So rather than attempting to find truths I shall explore the unknown.
I shall start at home and see were I end up. I shall document my days and hours and evidence my findings. Memento Vivere , mementos of my investigations. The neuro diverse mothers magic everyday. My home is where I care and create. It is my practice. When I was at school we studied home economics and domestic science. I did and still do find what it taught magical and enriching. I found what I like to call domestic magic.

My original IS research key words.
Phenomenology.
(Art creating) Learning.
(Art as a) Vessel.
(Art describing an) Identity.
Synchronicity.
My original question needs to be narrowed down.
How may making reveal my thought process, and what differences are revealed when what I have made is compared to what another group or person has made under the same conditions?
What does this mean (and how might it be useful in learning and teaching)?
I am moving towards producing a Memento Vivere to document the phenomenal everyday.
I shall use my three step process R.Y.E. (revealing your ecology) as a way for my audience/ educatees to describe in pictures a question they would like to make critical or examine. The (288) process will allow them to take this experience further allowing them to add words. By following this process, the audience educatees will explore something curious in the same way I have and will have documented their investigation. Once this experience has taken place those who have been involved should be able to explore my images for data. My audience or educators will have discovered my language, they will have found a sypher with which to decode my document of exploration. We will be, as they say, on the same page.
